7 Days Karamoja Cultural Tour

A week-long cultural and wildlife immersion in Karamoja — Uganda's least-visited region — combining Kidepo Valley National Park (rated the country's third-best wildlife park) with rare encounters with the IK, Dodoth and Jie peoples.

Day 1 — Long transfer from Entebbe to Kidepo Valley National Park (9–10 hours via Gulu) with en-route lunch. Overnight at Zebra Safari Lodge.

Day 2 — Full-day game drive in Narus and Kidepo valleys for the Big 4 — lions, elephants, leopards, buffaloes — plus cheetah, hyena, kob, oribi, zebra and giraffe; visit the Kanangorok hot springs near the South Sudan border.

Day 3 — Climb Mount Morungole (4 hours up, 2 hours down) to visit the IK people, Uganda's smallest tribe.

Day 4 — Visit a Dodoth community in Kaabong, then transfer to Kotido (3–4 hours) and meet the warrior Jie community. Overnight at Karamoja Overland Camp.

Day 5 — Traditional cattle market (Wednesdays only), participation in Karamojong daily life — beading, dancing, friendly wrestling, bow-and-arrow shooting — then transfer to Moroto and overnight in a kraal with the shepherds. Overnight at Kara-Tunga Safari Camp.

Day 6 — Transfer to Soroti via Kumi (6–7 hours) for the Nyero rock paintings, an ancient site once inhabited by the Batwa.

Day 7 — Transfer back to Kampala / Entebbe (7–8 hours) via Jinja for lunch.
