Are gorilla permits included in your packages?

Accepted Answer

Yes — every gorilla itinerary we publish quotes the full price including the Uganda Wildlife Authority (or Rwanda Development Board) permit, all park fees, your private 4×4 with driver-guide, listed accommodation and meals as specified. Optional add-ons like a habituation experience or a private chef are flagged separately on the proposal.

What payment methods do you accept?

We process secure payments via Pesapal — Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club, PayPal, plus M-Pesa, MTN Mobile Money and Airtel Money for travelers already in East Africa. Bank wire is available for larger bookings. All card payments are PCI-DSS compliant and you never share your card details with us directly.

Is my deposit safe?

Accepted Answer

Kuzuri Escapades is a fully licensed Ugandan tour operator (registered with the Uganda Tourism Board and a member of AUTO). Deposits are held against named bookings — permits, lodges and domestic flights are paid into the supplier on your behalf with receipts shared on request. Our balance-due policy is 60 days before travel, and we provide a written booking contract before any money changes hands.

What is your cancellation policy?

Accepted Answer

Cancellations more than 90 days before travel are refunded minus any non-recoverable supplier costs (typically the gorilla permit, which UWA does not refund inside 90 days). 90–60 days: 50% refund of recoverable costs. 60–30 days: 25%. Under 30 days or no-show: non-refundable. We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance and can recommend providers.

Are airport transfers and meals included?

Accepted Answer

Round-trip airport transfers (Entebbe, Kigali, Nairobi, Kilimanjaro) are included on every itinerary. Meals follow the day-by-day brief — usually full board on safari days, and breakfast only on transit nights in Kampala or Entebbe. Drinking water is provided in the vehicle on all driving days.

Can solo travelers join a small group?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We run small set-departure groups (max 6 guests) for our gorilla and Great Migration journeys, and we'll happily place solo travelers on existing private bookings where the lead guest consents. A single supplement applies for solo lodging. Most of our work, though, is private bespoke — designed around you, not a fixed roster.

What's the best time of year for a safari?

Uganda and Rwanda gorillas: year-round, with the drier months (June–September, December–February) easier underfoot. Kenya & Tanzania classic safari: June–October for the Migration river crossings in the Mara/Serengeti, January–February for calving on the southern Serengeti, March–May is the green season — fewer guests, better rates, dramatic skies.

Do I need a visa, and what about vaccinations?

Most nationalities can obtain an East Africa Tourist Visa (Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda — $100, valid 90 days) online before travel. Yellow fever vaccination is mandatory on entry into all four countries we cover. We'll send a full pre-trip pack 30 days before departure with the latest visa, vaccination and entry-requirement guidance.

How fit do I need to be for a gorilla trek?

Accepted Answer

Reasonably fit — a gorilla trek can be anything from a gentle 2-hour walk to a strenuous 8-hour climb through steep, muddy forest, depending on where the family has moved that day. Porters are available (and recommended — it directly supports the community), and our team helps the ranger assign you to a family group that matches your fitness on the morning briefing.

Will I have a dedicated driver-guide?

Yes. Every Kuzuri journey runs with one professional English-speaking driver-guide who stays with you start to finish — they know the parks, the rangers and the lodge teams personally. French, German, Spanish and Mandarin-speaking guides are available on request with advance notice.
