A four-day luxury fly-in to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park — one gorilla trek and a rare golden monkey encounter in the Virunga foothills.
Four days, two of Africa's most coveted primate encounters, and the perfect end of the Virunga volcanoes rising above your lodge. This is the slow, indulgent version of southwestern Uganda — flown in, hosted at one of the region's finest lodges, and built around two intimate hours with mountain gorillas plus a separate trek into the troops of golden monkeys.
Day 1 — Scheduled charter from Entebbe to Kisoro. Met by your guide and transferred to Mount Gahinga Lodge or a comparable luxury property at the foot of the Virungas.
Day 2 — Gorilla trekking permit in Mgahinga. Briefing at park HQ, then into the bamboo with armed rangers to find the Nyakagezi family.
Day 3 — Golden monkey trek through the high-altitude bamboo zone — a faster, brighter, more playful primate experience. Afternoon at leisure: nature walks, Batwa cultural visit, or the lava-tube caves.
Day 4 — Morning at the lodge, return charter to Entebbe.
