The Package
A short, high-impact primate circuit — golden monkeys in Volcanoes NP, mountain gorillas in Bwindi and a peaceful finale on Lake Bunyonyi.
A four-day cross-border primate experience starting in Kigali and ending back in Kigali, combining mountain gorilla tracking in Bwindi with golden monkey tracking in Rwanda's Volcanoes National Park and a relaxed canoe day on Lake Bunyonyi.
Day 1 — Arrive Kigali International Airport, scenic transfer to Musanze near Volcanoes National Park (2–3 hours). Optional Kigali Genocide Memorial or Twin Lakes (Burera and Ruhondo) en route. Overnight at Da Vinci Gorilla Lodge.
Day 2 — Early golden monkey tracking in Volcanoes National Park among the Virunga foothills, then cross the Cyanika border into Uganda and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (4–5 hours). Overnight at Rushaga Gorilla Lodge.
Day 3 — Mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest (2–6 hours of trekking, one magical hour with the family), then a 2–3 hour transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for overnight at Bird Nest Bunyonyi Resort.
Day 4 — Lake Bunyonyi morning canoe ride, birdwatching (200+ species) and a visit to Punishment Island, then 4–5 hour scenic transfer back to Kigali International Airport for departure.
Price: $2,085 per person sharing on mid-range lodging.
