A laid-back three-day escape to the Ssese Islands on Lake Victoria — beaches, forest walks and slow boat rides.
Three days off the mainland on Buggala Island, the largest of the 84-island Ssese archipelago. White sand on a freshwater lake, red colobus monkeys in the forest behind, and a beach bonfire after sundown — the simplest stop in our line-up.
Day 1 — Entebbe → Kalangala (Buggala Island) via the Nakiwogo ferry. Afternoon at leisure on the beach.
Day 2 — Forest walk to spot monkeys and birds, optional fishing trip with local boatmen, evening bonfire.
Day 3 — Morning swim, then ferry back to the mainland and return to Entebbe.
