Three days in southwestern Uganda โ the indigenous Batwa community, terraced Kigezi hills and a boat ride across the still water of Lake Bunyonyi.
Three days where the country grows quiet โ the terraced hills of Kigezi, the islands of Lake Bunyonyi, and an afternoon with the Batwa, one of Uganda's oldest forest-dwelling peoples.
Day 1 โ Drive from Kampala via the Equator and the rolling Kigezi highlands, arriving at Lake Bunyonyi in the afternoon. Sunset nature walk along the lakeshore. Overnight at Birdnest Eco Bunyonyi.
Day 2 โ Morning with the Batwa โ forest survival demonstrations, traditional fire-making, medicinal plants, storytelling, music and dance. Afternoon boat ride across the islands of Lake Bunyonyi.
Day 3 โ Guided morning nature walk, a stop at local craft centres, then the long drive back to Kampala via Mbarara and the Equator.
