Our most family-friendly itinerary — fifteen days mixing wildlife, culture, Nile adventure, Sipi Falls, Karamoja, Kidepo, Murchison, QENP and Lake Bunyonyi.
Fifteen days designed for two adults and three children — wildlife and culture, Nile adventure and lakeside afternoons, pool stops between game drives and kid-friendly lodges throughout. The point is not to tick parks; it's to give the family a country.
Day 1 — Arrive Entebbe, soft afternoon by the lake with an optional Mabamba shoebill swamp. Overnight at Best Western Premier Garden Hotel.
Day 2 — A Kampala city tour: Uganda Museum, Buganda Kingdom, snake park, markets and craft shops.
Day 3 — East to Jinja, the Adventure Capital — quad biking on the Nile bank and a sunset Nile boat cruise. Overnight at Buyala Bliss.
Day 4 — Source-of-the-Nile boat ride and family Nile tubing on the calm sections, with an optional Uganda Railway or Cultural Research Centre.
Day 5 — Up to Kapchorwa via Mbale; the three-tier Sipi Falls hike and an Arabica coffee farm tour. Overnight at Heritage Sipi Lodge.
Day 6 — North to Moroto: Karamoja Cultural Museum, traditional manyatta visits, a Mathe Niko Wildlife Reserve game drive, and the local markets. Overnight at Ecorete Place Hotel.
Day 7 — Up to Kidepo Valley NP — pool time and a Karamojong village visit at sundown. Overnight at Kidepo Savannah Lodges.
Day 8 — Morning and evening game drives in Kidepo (lion, leopard, cheetah, elephant, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, 475+ bird species).
Day 9 — West to Murchison Falls via Gulu. Overnight at Murchison River Lodge.
Day 10 — Murchison morning game drive and an afternoon Nile boat cruise to the foot of the falls.
Day 11 — On to Fort Portal via the Top of the Falls; visit the Amabere ga Nyina Mwiru caves and the Tooro Kingdom. Overnight at Nyaika Hotel.
Day 12 — Afternoon Queen Elizabeth NP game drive and a Kazinga Channel boat cruise. Overnight at Irungu Forest Safari Lodge.
Day 13 — A Lake Bunyonyi day: canoe ride, Punishment Island story, lakeside swimming and zip-lining. Overnight at Arcadia Lodge.
Day 14 — Scenic return via Kabale, Mbarara and Masaka with an Equator photo stop at Kayabwe. Overnight at Las Vegas Gardens Hotel.
Day 15 — Last-day Ndere Cultural Centre East African dance show and transfer to Entebbe for departure.
Price: $4,980 per adult and $2,890 per child.
