A focused fourteen-day birding circuit — Mabamba shoebill, Lake Mburo, Bwindi Albertine Rift endemics, QENP, Kibale, Murchison and Royal Mile Budongo.
A fourteen-day specialist circuit for birders — the Shoebill, the 23 Albertine Rift endemics of Bwindi, the 610+ species of Queen Elizabeth and the dawn Royal Mile at Budongo. Best in the drier months (December–February or June–August).
Day 1 — Arrive Entebbe; welcome and transfer to your hotel.
Day 2 — On to Lake Mburo NP via the Equator at Kayabwe; afternoon boat cruise for the Red-faced Barbet endemic, African Finfoot and Long-tailed Cisticola.
Day 3 — Long birding transfer to Bwindi via the Kigezi highlands. Overnight in the Ruhija sector.
Day 4 — A full day on the 4 km Mubwindi swamp trail for Grauer's Broadbill, Regal Sunbird, Archer's Robin-Chat, Dwarf Honeyguide, Stripe-breasted Tit, Ruwenzori Apalis and Handsome Francolin.
Day 5 — Birding from Ruhija through 'the neck' to Buhoma for Red-throated Alethe, Rwenzori Batis, Blue-headed Sunbird and Strange Weaver.
Day 6 — Optional mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi, one held hour with a habituated family.
Day 7 — North to Queen Elizabeth NP via the Ishasha tree-climbing lions.
Day 8 — A Kasenyi morning game drive and a Kazinga Channel boat cruise (Striated Heron, African Spoonbill, Verreaux's Eagle-Owl).
Day 9 — To Kibale Forest with en-route birding.
Day 10 — Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale and an afternoon Bigodi wetland walk (Great Blue Turaco, Papyrus Gonolek, Yellow-spotted Barbet).
Day 11 — North to Murchison Falls NP.
Day 12 — Morning game drive, afternoon Nile boat cruise and a hike to the Top of the Falls.
Day 13 — A full dawn-to-dusk day on the Royal Mile of Budongo (Dwarf Kingfisher, Chocolate-backed Kingfisher, Nahan's Francolin).
Day 14 — Birding drive back to Entebbe International for departure.
