13 Days Uganda & Tanzania Safari

A thirteen-day flagship combining Tanzania's Northern Circuit Big 5 — Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro and the Serengeti, with the Mara River wildebeest crossing in season — and Uganda's mountain gorillas in Bwindi.

Day 1 — Arrive Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to Arusha. Overnight at Kaliwa Lodge.

Day 2 — Game drive in Tarangire NP (large elephant herds, baobabs, tree-climbing pythons). Overnight at Sangaiwe Tented Lodge.

Day 3 — Lake Manyara NP for birdlife, hippos, elephants and the legendary tree-climbing lions. Overnight at Kudu Lodge.

Day 4 — Ngorongoro Crater game drive — 'Africa's Eden' with ~30,000 animals including the endangered black rhino. Overnight at Ngorongoro Forest Tented Lodge.

Day 5 — Transfer to the Serengeti via Ngorongoro Conservation Area with en-route game viewing. Overnight at Seronera Wildlife Lodge.

Day 6 — North Serengeti to track the Great Migration on the Mara River (late July to mid-October crossings).

Day 7 — Full day in Serengeti — Mara River and Lobo area for big cats, cheetahs and rare clip-springer antelope.

Day 8 — Transfer to Lake Natron with the Ngarasero Escarpment, Oldonyo Lengai volcano, flamingos and a walk to the waterfalls.

Day 9 — Transfer via Kilimanjaro and fly to Entebbe, Uganda; afternoon Kampala city tour or optional Mabamba shoebill swamp.

Day 10 — Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable NP via Kigali / Cyanika border (5–6 hours). Overnight at Rushaga Gorilla Lodge.

Day 11 — Mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi (1–4 hours of trekking, one magical hour with a habituated family).

Day 12 — Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for a boat ride around the islands. Overnight at Lake Bunyonyi Eco Resort.

Day 13 — Scenic transfer to Entebbe via Mbarara, Igongo Cultural Centre and the Equator at Kayabwe.
